
HORIZON PIONEERS-6G
Platform and Device Innovations for Energy-Efficient, Resilient, and Secure 6G-IoT Systems
PIONEERS-6G is an EU-funded Horizon Europe / SNS JU project. Its goal is to design and validate an Omni-IoT platform for future 6G systems, enabling IoT services that are more energy-efficient, resilient, secure, and globally scalable. The project focuses on connectivity across terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks, supporting use cases in industrial, underground, underwater, and global IoT scenarios.
The project will run for three years, from 2026 to 2029, and brings together partners from Sweden, Spain, Germany, Italy, the UK, and Greece, including MULINI.
Mulini’s role is focused on AI-driven security, privacy, and compliance-by-design for 6G IoT systems. Within the consortium, Mulini contributes technologies for detecting and mitigating security threats in distributed IoT devices and networks. This includes on-device AI/ML anomaly detection, traffic intelligence to identify malicious or unnecessary behaviour, protection against data poisoning and model manipulation, integration with Trusted Execution Environments, and runtime enforcement mechanisms.

HORIZON REAL-PETS
Empirical Detection Methods and Privacy-Enhancing Technologies for Real-World Tracking
REAL-PETS develops new privacy-enhancing technologies to detect and reduce real-world online tracking across web, mobile, and IoT platforms. It combines empirical tracking detection, regulatory compliance, human-centred design, privacy-preserving analytics, anonymous credentials, and post-quantum-ready encryption.
REAL-PETS brings together nine partners from six countries, combining leading academic expertise with strong industrial and SME participation.
Mulini contributes its expertise in IoT privacy, security, and compliance, helping ensure that the project’s solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned with real-world digital ecosystems and European privacy regulations.

Shaping the Future of 6G
This European initiative fosters the integration of new tools and technologies in 5G/6G networks, with multiple testbeds, pilot sites, and open calls to engage the community and drive measurable outcomes.
Mulini developed CERTIoT-6G, an innovative solution designed to enhance security and trust in next generation IoT environments, contributing to the evolution of intelligent, resilient, and scalable 6G infrastructures.

The Program represents a strategic and multi-year implementation intervention, consistently with the responsibilities attributed to the National Cybersecurity Agency as outlined in the legislative decree of 14 June 2021, n. 82, with reference to the themes of industrial development and technological innovation in the cyber domain.

RIPE
Policy Certification
and Verification for Cybersecurity in IoT
The project addresses cybersecurity and privacy risks in IoT devices by developing scalable, automated methods to verify and certify their compliance. It combines continuous monitoring and testing of device behavior in both laboratory and real-world environments, supported by machine learning, with real-time certification frameworks on IoT gateways. Collaboration with ISPs, the IETF, manufacturers, and regulators ensures standardized, reliable processes that enhance consumer trust in IoT security.
